PSC Experiential Learning Grant Application
The Department of Political Science offers small grants to Political Science majors to support their educational journey outside of the classroom. Political Science students engaged in experiential learning opportunities can apply for these grants in anticipation of, or during participation in, the experience. Experiential learning includes, but is not limited to, opportunities such as internships, study abroad, domestic/international travel for a student organization or event, or as a representative of the University. Grants generally range from $250 to $500, are limited in number and amount by resource availability AND can only be used for specific items such as airfare, conference registration, or other tangible expenses. The grants cannot pay for tuition or treated as a stipend. A student is eligible for only one grant per academic year and consideration will be given to those that have not previously received this grant.
To qualify, students must:
Be a currently enrolled Political Science major in good standing (a GPA of 2.0 or above) and will be enrolled during the time the grant will be used. In the case of study abroad, enrollment in coursework approved by the Office of International Studies is required. For internships, students must take the internship for credit. Students will need to provide a short description of the experiential learning opportunity, an explanation of the academic, intellectual or career readiness benefits and a why the grant will lower your financial hurdles for participation.
